Seasons
.
In Fall and Winter you'll not only notice the new plants popping up, you'll also see tons of visual changes. In Fall the trees will be changing to Red, Orange and Yellow tones and Winter everything will be covered in Snow.

Two new characters are coming to Garden Paws!
Chipmunk
.
Thanks to one of our Character Designers, octoberGods, we have a new character the Chipmunk! The Chipmunk has been in for a short while, with lots more customization coming soon.
Dragon

We are excited to say we have another playable character done, thanks to one of our Character Designers, Skywings14. This Dragon character will be stomping into Garden Paws for the 18th!
28 New Crops
With Seasons implemented we have added 28 New Plants to find in Fall and Winter. We have added quite a few new veggies as well in preparation for cooking!

Cooking
.
We've started implementing the first stages of cooking, the Campfire and Grill. This craft-able item, when placed, will be able to grill up fish into a nice energy boosting treat.
We plan on having an extensive cooking system, including 10+ Cooking Stations with each recipe requiring one step, to 10. The more difficult the recipe is, the more coin you'll earn from selling it, or the more energy you'll earn by consuming it.
We do plan on having buffs coming from certain dishes, but this won't be implemented until the dungeon is ready to com into Garden Paws.
Clothing and Accessories

For the last month we had 3 Limited Edition costume pieces, as kind of a bonus Thank You to our Alpha backers. These costumes have been removed and replaced with new costumes, the Witch Costume, and Magicians Costume.
We have more items that have been recently added into Garden Paws, with lots more clothing pieces to come. If you have any suggestions on pieces you'd like, comment below or let us know in our Discord.
Along with Costumes, we have new skins that have been added that are obtainable in Treasure Chests, through quests or from Splash's Shop.

New Playable Character, Fishing, Bouquets and more!

Currently in the Alpha

This past week we've added quite a bit to Garden Paws, including some great optimization, this last week we mainly focused on Fishing and Cooking.
Currently in the Alpha for Garden Paws, we have 200+ Quests, Fishing, 5 unique characters, 5 animals to raise/tame, 15+ crops, 60+ accessories and clothing items, and 40+ building and decoration items.
This month we will be focusing on implementing Seasons, along with 30+ new crops. As well as Cooking, Controller Support and Steam Achievements. Once these are done, we will start working on the Procedural Dungeon.
Meet the Badger, our newest playable character!

Thanks to Killian one of our Character Designers we have a great new playable character in the game, the Badger! This little one currently has 10+ skins that will be implemented into Garden Paws over the next short while!

Fishing!
We have implemented the starting stages of Fishing as well as 20+ more quests! We're really happy with this little mini-game where you can currently catch 10+ types of fish, with many more types to come.

We know fishing is an important feature for many players, we will certainly be expanding on this, adding variants such as seasonal fish types, and location variation to fish. Not only that but we aim to have 40+ fish once we add seasonal variants and even new islands.

Along with Fishing we have added two traps, the Fish Trap and the Shellfish Trap. Currently we have 9 obtainable shellfish to catch, including oysters, shrimp, crabs and abalone.
Speaking of oysters! In the next month we will be adding more unique features such as Pearl Farms! Pearls will be incredibly useful for jewellery making, and decorations. This is just one of the "garden" types that we plan to add to provide a unique play experience depending on your personal interests.

Dan and Kristina got a little carried away taking a "break" one day this week, making 30+ more accessories and clothing items, increasing the total number to 62 current accessories and clothing pieces in Garden Paws!
We hope you enjoy the new dresses, skirts and other items! Don't worry we have lots more customization to come, let us know in the comments what you'd to see.
Flower Workbench, Bouquets and More Quests

We are constantly adding more quests and items into Garden Paws, we're happy to announce this week we have added bouquets!
Bouquets are a great way to earn coin fast, instead of selling 5 individual flowers you can craft paper, and wrap up a few flowers to sell at once in a beautiful bundle! We will be adding more to this workstation over time, including hedges and flower vases.
Omno, an incredible game made by one person!
Omno is a single player adventure that will take you through lush forests, across a sun blasted desert, over a frigid tundra, and where the power of a lost civilisation will even carry you to the clouds. On the way you will meet strange creatures, encounter many surprises and maybe make a friend. Besides offering an interactive world, Omno challenges you with puzzles, hidden secrets and obstacles to overcome in 3D puzzle platformer style.

60+ Quests, Raising Cattle and more!

Halloween Island
Just a quick update onHalloween Island, as we have been asked this a few times. Rest assured Halloween Island will permanently be in the game. If you are an Alpha Backer though I'd suggest you snag those Limited Edition costumes, (Bat Wings, Ghost Costume and Vam-purr Cape), before they get removed from Garden Paws on November 30th.

60+ More Quests!
Over the last few days Daniel and Kristina have been hard at work implementing quite a few more quests! We are constantly adding quests to Garden Paws, with a goal of at least 100+ hours of content. Currently we are incredibly proud of our closed alpha with 35+ hours!
We recently did a poll in our Discord, asking what you would like to see in Garden Paws next and our top three are; Cooking, Fishing and the Procedural Dungeon!
We started on the cooking system and have 12+ crafting stations planned and quite a few recipes! With this many crafting stations and steps to making a dish, we hope cooking will feel very rewarding.

Cattle!
In preparation for implementing Cooking we have started working on how to obtain various ingredients including, Milk. What better way to get milk than by Cows!

To be able to raise calves you'll need a barn, this upgrade can be purchased from Frank in town, once you have it you'll have to purchase some calves from Mr. Mooney's new shop!
More player customization!
Dan and Kristina took a short break today to listen to some feedback in Discord for more accessories in Garden Paws. Thanks to some great feedback we have 10+ new colour variants and items coming in the latest update! This includes the incredibly adorable Penguin Backpack pictured here.

Farm Folks!
.
We love supporting other indies, and Farm Folks is definitely one to watch out for! This game has great features like, farming, raising livestock, uncovering great mysteries and more including beautiful graphics.
Develop relationship with the locals in Softshoal, you might even find a character you'd like to propose marriage to! This is definitely a game to watch out for, that proves will have great art and a great story to follow. Their Kickstarter was successfully funded, but if you'd still like to pre-order head over here.

Happy Halloween!
What's your favourite costume piece? What new costumes would you like to see?
This past week we released Halloween Event into the alpha! This update features a whole new spooky island with new townsfolk to meet, quests to complete, shops with new items and more.
The Halloween island will be available every Autumn in game, but the costumes are available for a limited time. Try to find all three costumes before the end of November this year!
In December we will be replacing the Limited Edition costumes with items that will be available permanently during the Halloween event in game.
The Halloween Event during Autumn is one of the many events, and unique islands we plan on introducing to Garden Paws.
The Shipyard

Captain Conrad runs the local shipyard, with your help he'll be able to explore the seas and find new islands to travel to. The first of which is the halloween island!
Halloween Costumes
.
In the Halloween Islands we included 3 limited edition costumes as a thank you to our Alpha players! If you're one of our alpha players you will be able to unlock the Ghost, Bat-wings or the Cape costumes.
These costumes will only be available in game until the end of November. After that the Halloween Event will be available in game permanently every Autumn, but with a new series of costumes and items.

Halloween Island is also home to the Hedge Maze which may hold some secrets if you dare to venture inside. Don't worry, there are many treasures to find outside of the maze as well.

Splash the Appearance Seller

There's a new shop-keeper in town, Splash! Splash sells a variety of appearance changes for every playable character!
When you start your new life in Garden Paws, you have a few available skins to choose from. But, you can customize yourself further with skins found in chests, obtainable through achievements, or purchase some from Splash!

Monster Sanctuary currently on Kickstarter
We love supporting other Indie studios, and this game is definitely one to check out!
Our friends from Moi Rai Games launched 'Monster Sanctuary' Kickstarter last week. It is an unique combination of monster taming and metroidvania like exploration done in lovely pixel art.

We are sorry the exclusives weren't available on the Alpha launch day (October 20th), but we have them almost 100% done and will get them to you as soon as we can.

Halloween update..
Our biggest priority is of course bug fixing. But while Dan is bug fixing, Kristina is working on the Halloween update that will be coming in VERY soon!
Without giving you too many spoilers the Halloween update includes a whole new island, a minigame, new shops and some halloween themed items!
One of the new items is the vamp-purr cape that the fox is wearing above. What do you think?
Bouquets, a new workbench and more quests..

You may remember from a past update we gave you a sneak peek at the Flower Workbench, well we have some exciting news! We have started implementing it along with the first crafting recipes, Bouquets!
Bouquets are a great way to earn some extra coin. You'll have to start way in the beginning making paper, from there you'll learn how to combine the flowers into beautiful arrangements to sell to your customers!
